Binance P2P in Senegal: how it works, traps and an alternative
Binance P2P is Binance's marketplace between individuals: you buy or sell crypto there, such as USDT, directly with another user, who pays you or whom you pay with a local payment method.
This guide explains how it works, which traps await buyers and sellers alike, and why selling on Mufasa X is faster and safer: no seller to wait for, no payment to check.
Binance P2P or Mufasa X: what changes
| Counterparty | Binance P2P: another user, picked from ads. Mufasa X: you trade directly with Mufasa X, with no seller or buyer to pick. |
|---|---|
| Price | Binance P2P: set by each advertiser. Mufasa X: the Mufasa X rate, fees included, shown before you confirm. |
| Payment | Binance P2P: the money goes from one individual to another, and the seller must check for themselves that it arrived. Mufasa X: when selling, you send your crypto to a deposit address and Mufasa X pays the CFA francs to Orange Money. |
| Timing | Binance P2P: it depends on the other user. Mufasa X: payout within seconds once the deposit is received. |
| Safety | Binance P2P: you check a stranger's payment yourself (fake screenshots, payments reversed afterwards, frozen accounts: Binance describes them in its own guides). Mufasa X: the payout comes from Mufasa X, never from an individual. |
| Support | Binance P2P: Binance support, from the order. Mufasa X: WhatsApp support, with your exchange ID. |
What is Binance P2P?
A marketplace between individuals: the offers shown are posted by other Binance users, with their price, their limits and the payment methods they accept.
When an order is created, Binance sets the traded crypto aside (escrow) and only releases it once the trade is completed on both ends.
Binance says fees may apply to orders, varying by market; the payment method may also charge its own.
Buying USDT on Binance P2P
In the P2P area of the Binance app, pick a USDT sell ad, enter the amount, read the seller's terms and place the order.
Pay the seller with the details shown in the order, then mark the order as paid, never before you have actually paid.
The seller checks the payment and releases the USDT, which lands on your Binance account. Do not cancel an order you already paid until the seller has refunded you.
Selling on Binance P2P for CFA francs
Pick “Sell”, the crypto and your currency, then a buyer from the ads. Read their terms before placing the order.
During the order, Binance locks your crypto. The buyer pays you with the agreed method.
Check on your own account that the money has arrived, and only then confirm the release of the crypto. Binance warns about it: beware of fake confirmations from the buyer.
The real traps of P2P
Fake proof of payment: an edited screenshot or receipt, sent to rush you into releasing the crypto. Binance lists it among common P2P scams.
Fake SMS or fake Mobile Money receipt: a message that mimics a payment notification, while the money never arrived.
Payment reversed afterwards: depending on the payment method, the buyer may get their payment cancelled once they have the crypto.
Frozen account: Binance reports that some P2P sellers had their bank account frozen after selling to buyers caught up in a scam that was then reported to the authorities.
Fake Binance agent: someone poses as Binance support and asks you to transfer funds to them.
The rule: only release your crypto once you see the money on your own account, logging in yourself, never on the strength of a screenshot or an SMS.
On Mufasa X: instant and safer than P2P
Instant: no ads to compare, no seller who has to log in, confirm or release. As soon as your deposit arrives, the Orange Money payout goes out automatically.
Safer: there is no stranger on the other side. No fake payment screenshot, no payment reversed afterwards, no fake agent: Mufasa X itself pays the CFA francs to your Orange Money number.
Clear: the rate is shown before you confirm, so you know exactly how much you receive.
To buy, you pay with Orange Money or Max it, and the USDT goes straight to your own wallet.
Already holding USDT on Binance?
Withdraw it from Binance to the Mufasa X deposit address, with the same network on both sides, and receive CFA francs on Orange Money.
